Hi, i know to some of you this may be a silly question but just doing a test on my house for some practice and i have no earth on the lighting radials, so what are you met to do for the r1+r2 test? what are you ment to write on the inspection sheet/report.
cheers

If there is no CPC present then you cannot test it's continuity.

Ideally these circuits would need rewiring or at least warning labels to state that there is no CPC present so that metal lighting items are not used.

in short, if you have any kind of metalic fitting attached to that circuit you have a problem, if not then there is no requirement for a CPC as installed in days gone yonder.

as for the testing, you need to put LIM in the R1+R2 box, and under the limitations box you put something along the line . Unable to test lighting Circuit R1+R2 due no CPC present.

This is if your carrying out a test such as PIR

with Periodic Testing, if you cant do it always write down what you cant do in the limitations box, You dont need a reason but you do need to say what you cant do.

Actually, if the cpc does not exist then you enter N/A in the R1+R2, Zs, and applicable insulation resistance boxes, a limitation is something that can be measured but is not due to choice or client request.
