Hi when going through the sequence of dead tests for a ring other than insulation/separation is it necessary to remove loads for r1 rn r2 and R1 +R2.Will it make a difference to these readings? For example if you were going to start a complete circuit test right through to rcd tests would you after safe isolation remove all loads and then proceed or would you remove all loads after r1 r2 rn end to end when you go around each point with R1+R2 in readiness for IR tests?

Also I know how to check for bridges but can someone explain why we need to identify these, if they are potentially dangerous and if they need to be removed as I can't seem to find a lot of information on this point?
Cheers

i can't see a load affecting the r1, r2, rn readings, but as you will be removing the loads for further testing, then why not remove them first.? a bridge can cause problems because it will divert current from some sockets and cause an inbalance of the ring.
