Hi all when performing an r2 test prior to commencing an EFLI test would it be acceptable if the board was made from metal of course to test from the point to the outside of the board rather than to the earth bar? Just for when you are working with large 3phase boards full of cables.

In my opinion that is incorrect as the cpc could be broken but parallel paths may not suggest this. From previous threads you clearly have issues working within the distribution board and as such how will you prove polarity as this is a dead test which should be carried out before the circuit is made live.

For a new circuit or alteration the dead tests should be done first to ensure it is safe to energise.
