Hi, am looking for some help. I know r1+ r2 is connect phase to cpc at cu and test between each at skt, sw etc on low omhs, what i cant seem to get is just r2 can anyone help?

what cant you get on an R2 test? a reading?

R2 is an end to end resistance of a conductor...you may need a wander lead for this...(dont forget to null out any test lead resistances first)

R2 is just the cpc that you are checking,
It's a good way of checking that metal lights and switches have been earthed.

Connect your wander lead to the earth terminal inside the board, one probe of your meter to the wander lead and the other probe for testing. As previously mentioned don't forget to either null the lead out or subtract the reading

'wander' round the house testing till your hearts content

good for finding the furthest point as well (if not obvious, 3 plate n all that)....then you can get an R1 R2 from there.. for EICRs..
