For an commercial vehicle lift /ramp would a motor rated MCB be required, as it is not a continuous load although quite a high torgue but low speed I cant make up my mind, what your take on it,

almost definitely a C type will be required. it's the start-up current that trips B types. make sure you size your cable to get an acceptable Zs. the max. value is 1/2 that for a B type.

Lacking info-

Is the ramp hydraulic or other methods like a lead screw?
Is the motor DOL or VSD controlled?
What is the Phase and rating of the motor
What does the manufacturers instructions recommend?

Without any info an we can't offer any advice.... its akin to me asking you how many rolls of wall paper will my front room require if i redecorate it and expect you to give me an answer without further info.

The answer is 8 rolls of wallpaper but don't be surprised to have 2 rolls left over like I did!
