range cooker fault

got a range cooker that shuts down at 200 deg. supply is fine. any ideas? thermostat? thanks..

when you say shuts down, do you mean it stops heating and won't go above 200?

it shuts down at 200 and starts up again when its cooled down.

Either your control stat or hi-limit stat would seem to be faulty.

Are they the good old fashioned bulb type stats, or are they electronic?

Look for the model number online and see if you can google a circuit diagram. Should give you an idea of what stats are in the circuit. Sounds like an "over-temp" stat to me (rather than the temp control) as it has to cooldown before remaking.

or just buy food that cooks at less than 200 degrees.

cooling fan not working if its made by stoves it will be a small pcb that controls it
