Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone uses Rated People to find work. They offered me a introductory offer of £10+vat for a quater and I was considering it.

I wouldnt bother mate, honestly. I have never heard anyone say a decent word about service magic or rated people. I "apparently" owe service magic £54 for them to send me false leads. Never got any work from them just hassle and a bill. Now i have rated people calling me everyday with the same crap. Before you sign or agree to anything you need to ask for the terms and conditions before proceeding and you want it immediantly.. DO NOT allow them to say it over the phone because they will do anything to pressure you and try and do the HARD sale..

be cautious is my advice.

take care n good luck

for £10 it's worth a flutter. they send you leads and you pay for the lead, price dependent on the customers estimated price. if you are selective about the leads you buy, you can get some decent work from them. any leads you can't quote on, they credit you for that lead. now, say you buy a lead for £4, for a small job, and can't contact the client, or they've already booked someone else, get the credit lead, then use it to buy a £20 lead for a bigger job.

I understand how it works in that case.
Looking through some of the works orders on there, the customers have some ideas on prices LOL

yeah, full reire for under £1000. that's whyi said be selective on what you buy

I think I will use it as a local marketing tool to help with my building up of word of mouth business. I can't commit to anything too big until my redundacy in April. However, some nice little ones around the Part P reporting I can get away with. Minor works out of specials locations I mean.

A mate of mine works at rated people - I'd definitely try them over service magic - prefer the model of seeing the jobs over trying to flog you blind leads. No harm at all in building some contacts with people locally who need work doing to build your book & business as long as you can get around their price expectations etc

rated people clearly has a mixed response.

I know someone that has had much work from it.

As always though, try word of mouth, recommendation, repeat business for the platinum plated work. Next down for me is local business directories (at town / village level)
