Yes I agree normally type b. Sunny boys thou have inbuilt earth fault protection and by design can't feed dc currents into an ac circuit and suggest a type A 100ma
 
Rcds on a pv system should disconnect both the line and neutral conductors so only use a double pole not a RCBO!

Hi.
When I did my MCS course I asked about the RCD implication.
I was told single pole is fine & tripping mechanism had to be DC sensative.
 
DC sensitive - so that makes it a Type B then :) as a Type A or AC will flood the core and stay permanently locked on with DC leakage currents, and so in accordance with 133.1.3 it will be outside the scope of it's standard.

Just read that clause and see what you're making yourself liable to if you use a Type A / AC where a Type B is required.
(Life isn't that simple though ...)
