Quick question guys 16a commando units and 32a commando units 3 phase in a factory do these require rcbo/rcd protection??

thanks in adavnace.

If there is the possibility they will be used to supply portable appliances (ie not items of fixed equipment) then yes they should be RCBO protected. I've had a similar situation in commercial offices where I.T equipment is installed on ring mains but they still want to use sockets for phone chargers etc. You don't want the I.T equipment on RCBO's but the fact that there are general use sockets on the circuit dictates that you must protect it with a RCBO. It depends on the equipment to be used.
You could label each socket as to it's intended purpose and that should negate the need for RCBO protection as far as the regs are concerned.
