a fuse carrier is broken in 6way mem board with no rcd protection , it makes sense to upgrade to rcbos like other boards in the installation..

My question is , I'm nearly certain there is borrowed neutral on the lighting circuits and he won't want a wire fitted from kitchen to landing to separate and allow rcbos. Considering Its new board and requires eic, what's the rules on keeping the lighting circuits on mcb and eic

If it is domestic you have no choice other than to give additional rcd protection or note a departure and prove the absence of additional rcd protection leaves the installation no less safe than if an rcbo were fitted.
If it is commercial then installation methods may warrant additional rcd protection, if so you are looking at a departure as above.

From what I was told by the CPS , omitting RCD protection in a domestic job is pretty much a no go.
I can't see any situation in a domestic job where I would be happy to omit RCD protection.

I would go with @littlespark suggestion, make it a single lighting circuit so the "borrowed" neutral is no longer borrowed.

Not ideal as a fault will take out the lot, but in the days of LED lighting you don't need 2 * 6A total capacity, and far fewer trips due to filament lamps going 'pop' on switch-on.

Well I've got the job , so change fuse board then eicr for the the full installation. Which COULD acquire extra money .. that's how I left it..

Battery smoke alarms, reading building reg with smoke detection, it says battery units are ok if in date and RECOMMEND being hard wired when is to be changed .. source is building control NI , thoughts ??
