I have looked at a job today which is a shower install. trouble is it;s the old wylex box with rewirables in. there is a spare way and thought of using this to supply a small enclosure with RCBO unit in. can I do this without upgrading the tails etc. (bonding is in order)
The way I read it in the books is things have to comply to the current regs so uphrading required but hoping feeing it from existing slot gets away from this.

there was a shower in at some point which has been removed and it's fuse used for a cooker.

the property is a flat and the run for the tails will be a night mare......

any advice appreciated, Ross.

2 things to consider :

-Is the main switch capable of coping with the additional load /
-What rating is the shower ? & will your rewireable be able to supply it ?

You say you dont want to upgrade the tails......what are they now then????

Are you not able to break into the tails and supply a small CU just for the shower???
