As far as I am lead to believe, an RCCB has overcurrent protection. They look just like RCDs tho as there is no Type B or C rating on them?I've recently installed one and i'm now worrying if its right.Any help?
Cheers

RCCB = Residual Current Circuit Breaker. Nowadays known as a Residual Current Device (RCD). NO OVERCURRENT PROTECTION, which is why there's no B, C or D.

Don't confuse them with RCBOs = Residual Current Breaker with Overload. Combined MCB and RCD, though the single-width ones only disconnect one pole, like an MCB. These DO have type Bs Cs and Ds.

Simon.

I thought you was always happy Tony. ...lol!!
Pity I can’t send or receive PM’s at the moment E54. got a good tale to tell you. I’m going to hijack a mates PC later this week and see if I can sort out the mess I’ve created on this B***y F***ing pile of C**p of mine by attacking through another door!

Don't worry, failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently...lol
:smile5:

Incorrectly understanding protective devices is a little bit more serious though. Especially leaving a circuit in service with no overcurrent protection.

I await with interest then Tony....
