RCD shower unit

Can anyone advise on fitting an RCD unit between CCU and shower. Havent got instructions with it and the only marking on it are "N" at one of the terminals at the top of the RCD and another "N" at one of the bottom terminals.
My question is does the cable from the shower go to the top two terminals and the cable from the CCU go to the bottom terminals? I thought it was usua practice to feed the CCU cable into the top of the RCD.l

an rcd monitors the current in/out, so technically it does not matter, although you tend to see feed in at top feed out at bottom

It sounds like you might have an RCBO as opposed to an RCD, check!!

in or out can go in either top or bottom... just make sure the neutral goes in the terminal marked 'n' ????

Thanks everyone for your input. Have connected cable from CCU to top terminals and all seems fine.
