Hi All, I was called to an RCD tripping problem tonight and I have found the cause which was a intermittent problem on a lighting rig.

My issue is that during my testing I did a slope test of the 100mA RCD protecting the main board. It was tripping at 65mA, my question is what value is acceptable for a 100mA RCD to trip at?

I have the 2391 & 2330 L3 but cannot remember any min times.

Thanks, Jon.

Great thanks.

One final Q I do all 3 phases but was told that this is not required as any phase shows the devices is working any comment?

I would aggree with that as all 3 phases go through the RCD with the neutral.

Make sure you test it on both sides of the sine wave and record the highest 1 X only.

The max trip times will depend on the RCD a BS only number will be 200ms and a BSEN 300 ms.

Have a look at this post
