What do you have to test when your testing rcd?

Just record 1x and 5x? and for nonsence tripping at 0.5x (which it shouldn't trip)

And I have looked in regs, but can't seem to find a table for maximum reading? But I quickly looked in the OSG and it says should trip within 200ms for 1x and within 40ms for 5x ..... is this correct and all I need to test for with the RCD? Plus record on the forms what amp and mA rating it is..

An RCD test should consist of 6 seperate tests, @ 0.5 x IdeltaN, 1 x IdeltaN & 5 x Idelta N (5 x only applicable if it's a 30mA rated RCD for additional protection), on both sides of the sine wave (0 & 180 degrees)

As you said, the 1 x & 5 x values are recorded on the certificate together with the characteristics.

Old BS type RCD's were required to operate in 200ms @ 1 x IdeltaN, the newer BS EN types are required to operate within 300ms.
