Looking some advice / guidance, new installation recently finished, got sent to the house today where the owner informed me that the power was intermittently tripping, hadn't to much time to check everything but one thing I noticed was if I put any load on the kitchen ring the rcd on the other side of the split board would trip, would there be an earth leakage through kitchen appliances or could it be an over sensitive rcd? Which I had a bit more time to investigate throughly but rushed of my feet at the mo

I'd check the usual's first, circuit neutrals in incorrect neutral bars, split load kit incorrectly fitted at factory etc etc.

If they check out, ramp testing of the RCD to make sure it isn't goosed followed by I/R testing of the kitchen RFC to confirm the presence of a fault or not.

Has any testing been carried out already??

Are any other circuits affecting the problem RCD??

Iv already checked continuity of circuits, insulation resistance and zs, install was done by another spark working for the same company about three months ago but this fault only occurred on monday, never tried the ramp test tho, bloody smart home system too with about 50 circuits iv only checked the kitchen circuit so far as that was the one causing the problem

First guess would be one of the circuits in the wrong neutral bar (for the other RCD to trip).

On another note a dual RCD board and 50 circuits, I wouldn't mind betting that the RCD is nearly at threashold for tripping anyway (especially with the type of equip you'd get in a smart home). If you have a clamp meter and can get both the L and N in it, try a differential check on the RCD and see how much leakage there is already for each of the RCDs.

its split 4 ways with 12 circuits in each way, must try that with the clamp aswell, wired in twin and earth so the possibility of a neutral being in the wrong bar is very slim as each side of the split board has its own cable entry

Ah, that's not so bad (thought 2 way might be pushing it a bit ;)).

I bet one of the neutrals is trapped behind a socket face. I had this the other day, I had done a recent 2nd fix to be called back with an RCD tripping. I first asked if anything had been touched and was told nooooooooooooooooo! After finding continuity between neutral and earth on one of the radials I happened to notice that a wall had changed colour since I was last there. "Did you take the sockets off the wall when you painted"? Oh yes came the reply. I pulled of the second socket to find the neutral clamped between socket face and fixing lug. And it would cause the other RCD to trip as soon as a light was switched on.
