RCD Tripping when bypassing kitchen circuit straight from main fuse

Ran a 4mm straight from main fuse removed busbar and put 4mm into bottom of breaker, RCD keeps tripping

Why would you do that?!

Im wondering if hes just not got the terminology right, and its not actually as big of a bodge as we think. (or it is!)

Possibly, hes just dismantled an old CU just to have an RCD mainswitch. One cable out rather than a busbar feeding other mcb's.

The problem may be that he's connected to the wrong neutral bar

I suspect the RCD may be the main switch and he's taken the possibly faulty circuit out of an MCB and straight into the outgoing side of the RCD to try and 'fix' a problem...
