overall RCD vs RCBO

3 circuits

shower x1
lights x 2
sockets x 3

RCD with MCB or
Main switch with RCBO??

it'll be a cheaper option to fit a dual RCD board, however RCBO's are the better option. the only thing with RCBO's are they are single pole, whereas if the RCD goes pop, it cuts live and neutral off. (whether or not that makes a difference I don't know)

well as you know we are supposed to split it all up, etc, this situation just cries out for a sensible one RCD. . been looking at the circuits and how would you split that lot up to comply. I would put lights and shower on one RCD, Sockets on another. That way whatever happens you got light somwhere, as long as there is a table lamp about. Three RCBOS no one can knock, perfect system, however with the cost of the board, the RCBOS, may be cheaper to get a special offer etc. 17th.

Depends how many your buying;), and what rates you've agreed for that particular manufacturer. from the sounds of it Bugsy is doing alot of work and so spends alot with the wholesalers so he's got them over a barrel and he can dictate to them.

As per above from Dave. Swap to a 63A outlet and problem goes away. What gets plugged into it is not part of an inspection.
