I saw this interesting device in a gewiss catalogue.Called restart. Its an rcd which resets itself after testing that there is no insulation damage to the cables. It also performs a weekly trip test on the device, without dropping power to the installation. No idea on the price.

Got a link?

Must admit, cant see how this would work if there is a faulty appliance upstream still connected?

Hi Jason6930,not exactly a link, but if you google gewiss.com and click on to their catelogue you will see the pdf for rcd restart, and some bumph about how it works. If there is still a problem it wouldn't reset, but maybe would come in handy if a blown bulb would take out an rcd.

Ive seen this product advertised after seeing a link on an other forum(screwfix i think). - Seems to be used a lot abroad? - good idea if house empty and freezer full of food when RCD trips. - If this is the same one it attempts to reset itself if the fault has cleared. - clever stuff (maybe to clever though)... http://www.gewiss.com/irj/portal/focusonrestart_IN

I don’t see an rcd here. Is it elsewhere, supplying this board? It looks like it’s in a garage… is there excessive moisture getting into...
