Hi All,

I am interesting in findanyone who has any pictures or experience of working on bi-phase power supplies. The site where I am involved needs to increase its demand and a bi-phase supply will be provided by the local DNO (Power Networks). Would I be correct to say this is two of the three phases of a three phase supply?

Any thoughts or assistance welcomed?

Regards

Nadeem

You can have two legs and neutral off a three phase transformer, or all three legs of a centre taped transformer. The centre being neutral.

BTW Bi-phase can be an American 90 degree phase shift system, search Scott transformer

I wired a 2 phase welder as a favour about 40 years ago.
Guy that owned it said it need 2 phases, that's what it got.

Pity it was set to 240v, went well for about 1/2 a rod..

Early lesson learnt, never trust a customer
