Re fatally flawed

hI all early hours of yesterday I emailed Mothercare re the fatally fawed campaign and explained what we are trying to do and a link to the fatally flawed website.This morhing I received a mail back saying how horrified they were with what they saw and they will get someone high up to try and do something,if nobody else has emailed them it might be worth somebody else doing it as hopefully we can get then to stop selling those things.

Yeah Tony seen too much avoidable grief when I was a volunteer with the local fire service,spend half my time warning people of the dangers of candles ,tea lights and double adapters,theres a great many known hazards out there and we need to make the public more aware.Worst thing I ever saw was a woman who had put bath oils in her bath and tea lights on the side,one fell in and the oils ignited poor woman was burned all over,looked like she had a bath in petrol absolutely terrible and so easily avoided.

Struth, never would of thought that could be so dangerous, I suppose I would of thought all that water in the bath would extinguish the flame but know I think about it, the oil will sit on the top of the water and if ignited I assume it could act like napalm!

Yep mate exactly you would not believe how quick they go up seen more than 1 house wrecked by tealights and it only takes a couple of minutes to go up,another one is aerosol cans on windowsills getting warm in the sun,like a bomb going off wrecks the room!

phil d, top marks for the continued promotion of fatally flawed. i'm vexed by something though. this not a new campaign. mothercare will have been made aware of it, by the original IET folk if no one else. i hope you're not being being batted away with bull****.

Unfortunately the likes of Mothercare and the rest are well aware of the situation. But ££££’s seem to cloud their view.

I sincerely hope Phil has done some good.

If Mothercare stop selling them the local shop will continue to.

It’s the new parents that need educating. Given the intelligence of some of them I think I’ll go and hit my head against the wall now.

I wonder what sort of effect we would have if every one on this forum wrote to their local MP about this campaign with the link to the website so they could see it for themselves. Im sure the MP would have to respond if he recieved so many letters about it.
