Hi Guys,Just an update on my post from a few days ago.The shower was not working. There was only 70v at the supply side of the pull switch, but there was 230v at the MCB.I disconnected the supply from the pull switch and 230v was present.Ah new switch needed I thought, but no,I fitted a new switch but there was still only 70v with the switch in the off position.I opened the shower unit and measured the supply here, only 70v with the pull switch on.I diconnected the supply at the shower and it measured 230v.Reconnected the shower the supply stayed at 230v.At this stage I switched on and everything worked ok.Strange one this.

Re: Faulty Shower

Break in the cable between switch and shower/switch and MCB,rectified upon you moving it,meaning it can resurface again,as well as obvious arcing/fire/fuse blowing later.

Non conducting swarf ingress at shower terminals, preventing circuit being made, cleared upon disconnection of cabling.

Something loose/faulty in shower unit itself, future intermittent problem..

Just guessing, dont install electric showers anymore, due to obvious dangers,Water pouring over electricity in flimsy plastic casing, manufacturers swear blind by them, someone has unfortunate time, company directors find way of sending you,Installer,Inside, due to a thing called MONEY.

Anyways,hope its helped.

Let me know by PM,if possible..Cheers!!
