Recent TV Adverts

I’ve seen a couple of adverts recently on mainstream daytime TV for solar. Both pretty cheesy.

I’m not sure I like the idea of publicising prices like this on TV.
Or quoting without an onsite survey.
Or creating the myth that householders sell what they don’t use.


Is this the sort of publicity the industry wants? (Btw. I heard first4solar invested £1.2 million in their advertising campaign).

Completely understand your point about "householders sell what they don’t use" being inaccurate, but for a TV ad it needs to be understood by the viewer in a very short amount of time. If you said "You will also be paid an export tariff deemed to be 50% of the total kw/h produced every quarter" you might loose your audience!

In general TV adverts are of benefit to the whole industry that they target, even if they are not perfect in content - agree this could be better however.

quite clever advertising the 14 panel system for under £5k, £5k is probably a bit of a psychological barrier point for people.
