Rechargeable headtorch

I am looking to get a better headtorch than the current one I have, which I think I must have got 3 Christmases ago in a cracker.
I don't really want to spend more than £40. I will be using it for work but also maybe cycling and camping, so it could do with having a bit more than the average brightness and range.

I have been looking at the led lenser H7R / H7R.2 and am getting stuck with other brands to look at...
Anyone got any suggestions or experience of this torch ?

led lenser really good.

they do ones that take aa batteries (lasts ages)

or with built in

if you look them up on google then flip through the tele you will see everyone using them

I keep mine attached to my hardhat with tywraps, Im using a makita one now but thats only because it uses my makita batteries and can be used as a worklight

Had the h7r for about a year, amazing kit if you remember to charge it, and clean the smelly sweat of the front head band

Just got a H7R.2 from ebay, new for £30... :smilewinkgrin: Can't wait.... love new toys through the post.

I've been using an led one from CEF "ledlite" for around 8 years now only uses one AA battery and costs around 16 quid inc vat , they still stock them in a hiviz yellow now, never had a problem dropped it bashed it , its been underwater and still going strong and its economical to use!

yeah but the led lensor is really bright as well

any sturdy one powered by 3x AA batteries.
that one for example:

use it with some good quality ni-mh cells (sanyo eneloop).

I had the H7r for about 2 years it's not a bad head torch for the money but battery life isn't great and it has abit of a narrow beam. So when it finally gave up I had a look round and found the Zebralight 602 model which is a bit more expensive but has one lithium battery that is equal to 4x AA and lasts a lot longer than the H7r plus it can go up to 1050 lumens compared to around 200 lumens on the H7 and the beam is a flood light with 120 deg beam. It is far better than any LED Lensor H7 or H14 trust me.

Cheers but that zebralight was out of my price range. I have ordered the new H7R.2 which comes with flood and spot focus, and I'm confident the 4x li-ion AAAs will cope with the use I have planned for it. It can drop from 200 lumen to an energy saving 20 lumen if i'm in a small cupboard too.

I've got the LED lenser H14R, it's amazing and works very well. I use normal rechargeable a in it though as I find if you let it go flat the charger doesn't charge it, so it's just as easy to take the batteries out and charge them.

make sure you pay the full retail price from a reputable known supplier else you will end up with a fake that cost a lot of money.

i wouldn't bother with any other torch.
