So the Ms keeps pestering me to get around to fitting a light out the back so she can see our rather small garden and what the dogs up to :p
Anywho ime thinking of fitting a LED floodlight for the purpose.
Can anyone recommend a decent one?
Preferably in white.

Cheers.

All decent light fitting suppliers make small LED floodlights now. Just google them. Wouldnt go for anything other than LED though, for the price it's a no brainer. Most wholesales will stock them on the shelf as well so just ask in there.

try a company called convertabulb. PIR LED floods. ( i have no connection with them other than buying from them, as they are local to me ). i'd suggest 40 or 50 watt LED.

Ah ok then haha.
Interestingly though we recently tried some LED 4ft tubes as to a cost saving idea against our standard 36w tubes.
When we actually wired em up and tested them they were actually pulling a extra 1/2A each which I was quite shocked at!

ÂŁ70 still isn't cheap enough yet for me to consider them.
For the very occasional use they get, I can't see where the savings come over a ÂŁ10 halogen fitting. I haven't changed my halogen lamp in over 8 years, and it will cost a couple of quid when I do.

I totally see the point of leds for use in fittings of more than 4 hours a day, the savings really do make sense there, but I can't justify floodlights to my customers yet. By the way, I appreciate this is for your own home, I just digressed a bit.

Thanks guys.

I know what you are saying about the costs Andy.
Although with me it goes past the cost in as much as I dont like the light given off by halogens and I only have a small garden (about 8m square) so I wouldnt need much to light it up heh.

But I must admit if it was someone else unless they requested LED I would go for halogen.
