Hi everyone

Just doing last minute revision for the final practical (i.e. Periodic Inspection/Fault Finding) on the 2330 L3 (Tue 22nd ) & I've just stumbled across something that may come up, but I'm not sure how to classify it.

If there is a bridge made on a ring final (i.e. a ring within a ring) but the readings are within acceptable values, can anyone advise which Recommendation Code that would go under?

Strictly speaking, the Regs don't actually say that you can't have a bridge but they do say that that section of the ring must not be overloaded. What I can't work out though, is whether that should be put on the report as a Code 2 (Requires action to remove potential danger) or not. If that section of the ring isn't overloaded then there is no danger. But that doesn't mean it couldn't get overloaded. Having said that though, any ring could be subject to overload if you plug enough things into it.

Anyone come across this before or got any ideas?

Surely ,a ring within a ring, negates the original ring and therefore is not acceptable, bearing in mind,a ring can be within 100sq metres and relies on diversity plus a 30 amp fuse to protect it all, anything breaking that ring, must surely interfere with its Theoretic performance.....Wouldappreciate an update andany advice on this one....Cheers!!

I very much doubt that an interconnected ring will come up on level 3 practical. It's normally much easier like no continuity or reverse polarity but suppose it is possible.
