scenario: 6 Amp circuit breaker tripping on external lights.
The fault was isolated but noticed several other anomalies.
There are four floodlights, possibly IP44 rated all pointing up (to light the front of the property) and all collecting rain like funnels. Only one of the lights had a rubber garter attempting to prevent ingress of water.
The property is on a cliff-top, south facing, and suffers 100 mph + storm weather. Personally I think IP66 fittings would be more appropriate but I'm happy to be corrected.
Bearing in mind that these lights will need to point upwards can anyone recommend suitable lights? The existing lights are 150 watt each (es27 filament) but if the price is right maybe the equivalent LEDs would be more reliable or cost effective.
Apparently the staff turn the fittings down in bad weather conditions as they regularly trip out the breaker .
I have to go out now but I'll be back within an hour to respond to any feedback.
Thanks in advance for any help submitted.
