Currently pricing a Job up for a friend who's recently had a recording studio built at the bottom of his garden (10m from house. 13m from C/U).
Inside Studio is fairly straight forward:

1x 4-way RCD protected C/U
2x 16a Radial (1 performance area, 1 studio area) feeding 5 outlets each. (Nothing major will be drawing current: pc, monitor etc.)
1x 6a Lighting for 2 strip lights and an external recording light.
Spare way for possible alarm system.

Issue is the C/U in the house, whilst there is a spare way, it's an old square d board and I can't imagine I'll be able to get a new MCB to fit. Was looking at a henly block, but then would I have to bring the new C/U from the studio back into the house?

You could install a small enclosure with a main switch and a single MCB.
Something similar to a shower or garage CU, but with a main switch rather than an RCD.

So Tails -> Henly block -> 1st Out -> House C/U ->Final Circuits
2nd Out -> 1 Way main switch w/45a MCB -> Studio C/U

I'd watch those 'strip lights' for any hum and crackle in a recording environment.

most wholesalers will get to order. last year i managed to get a 3 phase one through electric center. cost ÂŁ80 mind.
