hello all, can somebody please tell me what installation ref method a t+e cable, in a chase with plastic capping and plastered over, is meant to be?

thanks Doomed, 108 views and no one yet disagrees with C as the correct reference method. I just find it strange is all. As reference methods are arranged to account for the ability of a cable to radiate heat, how can a cable capped and buried in plaster possibly have the same thermal properties as a clipped direct cable?

The regs state the required thermal resistivity of the wall, Since the cable is in good contact with a thermally conductive solid (the plaster) the heat can conduct away which is more efficient than convection through the air.

See table 4A2 methods 57 and 58 on page 320 of the BGB.

Lenny, yours!
