hello all

i have a cable coming from fuse board in wall for 0.5 meters ,under the floor boards, up a riser then clipped above insulation in loft , i would class this as "clipped direct" . what do other people think ? right or wrong ?

thanks in advance for replys

worst as regards temperature correction is buried in wall. take that as you reference method when calculating cable ccc.

6mm cable clipped direct is 47amp in 17th. customer wanting a 9kw shower replacement 39 amp installed as above, would you leave or upgrade ?

i would leave itat 6mm.. try a clamp meter with the shower running on hottest. bet it's less than 39A. iv'e seen 10.5kW showers drawing 36A max. manufacturers ratings are a bit optimistic.

ok thanks for the quick reply , just need to convay this to council tomorrow, would be a nightmare to replace cable , nice to get some back up
