is there any contactor available with tripping facility ,because i need to run a fan which takes around 2 to 3 a and am using a contactor 20a and the supply is 63a does it effect the contactor kindly help

sites or link for contactor

can anyone help me with 63a 4 pole contactor and its size where i can buy,i there any contactor with overload tripping is available

I have yet to see a contactor that as a built in over load. but that is not to say that you can't source one, just it would be difficult or expensive

Because contactors are used in so many and so diverse situations it is more economical to have a contactor that you can attach many different value overloads to. So normally you would buy in your case a 20amp contactor and an overload 0-5amps and set it at 4 say

Ya i did one certificate course but not such experience looking forward to it!! Hope you guys guide me

I honestly don,t think forum members should advise you any further here, I don,t feel good about you working at this voltage. Not unless your working under supervision with an experienced electrician. Your safety and that of others is too important.

Sorry lads where does the 3 phase bit come in here ........................just because he is asking for a 4 pole contactor doesn't mean it is 3 phase .............

I think because of the guys obvious lack of experience and terminology here you are assuming 4 pole = 3 phase.

I suspect he knows what he wants but is struggling to put that across

He,s asking about a 63A 4 pole contactor. With that size of contactor (and also that it is 4 pole) I think it,s most likely it is 3-phase. But I hope your right and he,s working on 230V and not 415V.

Thing is he is talking about a 2-3 amp fan being controlled by a 63amp contactor ...............:whatchutalkingabout

To be honest he as been flying around here most of the day I've been on, at first I thought he was a student asking about things, but then he offered up this drawing concerning protective and instrument earth(!!!!) and I'm guessing he is working, which is why I've backed off.

actuaaly the main supply is 230v and stand by supply is 415v
and i am working with experienced supervisors from singapore ,
actually my concern is i need to run a fan which is 440v when 230v supply is absent so what i am doing am taking a control signal from control panel which will supply when 230v is not present so the coil is only get enegised when it will get control signal from the control panel for that i use two contactors

You only need to switch the lines and the contactor is rated per pole so for example a 16A four pole contactor would be fine.
