Hi guys, I'm new to this site and have had many questions answered by reading through some threads and wondering if anybody can help me out.
Does anyone know what is the regs say about mounting a 3 phase DB in a riser directly behind a toilet system?
Gazza.

Hi Gazza

You can quote loads of regulations regarding siting equipment and suitability for the location. A toilet being on the other side of the wall is not really a factor, I would look at the associated items with a toilet is the riser a dry riser, does any of the pipe work run through the riser and is the wall substantial enough to support a heavy distribution board. Part M of the building regulations will help you with the location and accessibility of the board (height ect). Is the riser the best riser to distribute the power, and remember to fire proof when done.

regards

Hey guys. It's still in the early stages of the job. The one location for our DB is in the bathroom in a riser. By the way the drawings are indicating it will be in the same riser as the cistern with removable panels for access. so it will have to be mounted above the cistern hight and you will have to negotiate the toilet bowl to be able to work on it. Is this allowed?
