Regs regarding house made of wood

Evening all,

Been to look at a job which was built back I the 1950s after the war. House is made of steel frame and the rest is made of wood. Customer wants kitchen rewire and few extra sockets round the house.

I don't see any problem with it. Told another sparks about it and he said you can only have surface boxes in a house made of wood. Is he pulling my leg??

What's in the house at the moment are the current ones recessed?
Cant see any difference from when people want sockets low down in those large wood skirting boards.

use fire seal on plasterboard boxes...
if you smmash them a little to 0ver 700mm squared...

we done apartments that were wooden framed on top floor of new building, and all gaps was filled with this stuff.. squirted everywhere and and every pipe enarly
