Long story short, I want to know if having click cieling roses above a plastered cieling with each one feeding say 4 lights and boards above that can be lifted but its a hassle. Is it against regulations, if so could you please quote the regulation.

Thank you in advance.

P.s i would trawl through them myself but im working away at the minute so after a quick answer!!

i would no class that as being accessible.what if laminate flooring were to be fitted?

To be honest Paul everything is accessible, we found the Titanic after all and that's 2 miles under a sea, it's just a degrees of accessibilty.

IMO a joint that is enclosed under a floor board that needs to be lifted with a tool, removal of floor coverings is not accessible for inspection testing and maintenace, espicially testing as in a PIR. To me we would be going down the road of dismantling, perhaps not the installation but certainly the fabric of the building.

I suspect another will come on here and say if you cut out a trap and marked it on a drawing or an certificate, it would be ok, and I can't argue with that, but again IMO it's a grey area.

No probs, its one of them things, there's 20 lighting circuits in the building only 4 of them are mounted under the boards, the rest are completely accessible, I was trying to save the customer money and now he's trying to not pay my boss for all the work, when ive pulled in 1600m of SY, basket tray, tied in etc etc
