Hi,
in my house I have a wall mounted LG tv, underneath an LG sound bar, and under that an electric fireplace (used for the fire effects and backlights, NOT HEATING)
All 3 have their own remote, but the LG tv has a 'magic remote' that controls the sound bar too.
There has never been any cross controlling between the LG products and the fireplace
Had my niece over and she chewed/dribbled over the remotes.
now the 'magic remote' and sound bar remote can intermittently turn the fireplace on and off.
This is an issue as my brother put a 3a fuse in the spur, so that if anyone tried to turn the fire heater on, the fuse would trip rather than melt the set-up above.
This has happened a couple of times now, and replacing the fuses is tiresome if its to keep happening. I will remove the connection for the heating element when i get a chance.
My question is, why would the only variable (baby drool) affect the remotes? I would have thought they are on a fixed frequency and a small bit of ingress wouldnt be able to change that? so why do the tv/sound bar remotes switch the fire on now?
