Hi ,

I have heating system with 3 zones , Up , Down and HW.

A Horstmann H37XL takes care of the scheduling of the 3 Zones.

The relays in the Horstmann are 240v 10A if memory serves me correct. From initial investigation , it appears that it works as follows:

Horstmann Programmer turns on relay , relay turns on power to zone valve which contains a switch , switch turns on boiler ( via some kind of intermediate relay at boiler.. not a direct on/off via Zone valve switch. )

Im looking at a Remote Switching unit ( Home Easy Receivers Remote Control Heating Unit ) which can turn on/off volt free or supply the 240v. Relay on this is 240v 16A.

My theory is that I can have it supply the 240v to the Zone Valve in parallel via Remote Switching Unit .. But i know it cant be that easy...

Any feedback apreciated.. Sorry for the long winded post.

Cheers

Stephen

Sorry title should read remote instead of remove.

I want to switch on my heating using a remote unit that has a 240v 16a relay in parallel with my heating programmer.

The heating system installation for home require lot of care. If its voltage increased from 240v because of remote switching unit, it can leads to blast and several other damages.
