I am replacing a pattress box at home. We removed our kitchen tiles and it seems a previous occupant messed up the threads on the existing pattress box. So before the plasterer gets to work I need to replace the box.
Any tips for getting the box out when it's firmly retained by a cut-nail?

Pulling doesn't work!

Thanks in advance for any good tips...

If the head will allow gripping with vise-grips,twist and shear off, otherwise.a good belt with a tapered punch will drive it through the box and release it. But if that's your only worry, look at the world news ,and be really thankfull...:joker:

Thanks for the tips. I'm more of a whacker than a re-threader, so I'm getting my cold chisel ready!
This was my post on the forum, and I'm amazed by the fast responses - many thanks.
PEG - it's not my only worry, but I don't think my other worries fit this fofurm :)

Regards your other worries ....you can probably get a cream for it... just pop to your local chemists ;)
