Although I love my Citroen Berlingo, it’s come to a point where I need to upgrade to a larger vehicle. Now I’ve got my eye on a Renault Traffic.....but It’s a LWB and I was hoping to get a SWB. There is only 16 inches between the lengths of them both, so I was wondering if anybody has any experience of driving both vehicles, and how much they differ?

They dont really.

Same engines and drivetrains etc. Like you say apart from being a tad longer and hence a tad slower there are no differences.

they are the same as the vaxhaull vivano same shape same engin same gear box mine caught fire ,got a transit now but would love a VW but the purse strings wont let me ,wife realy :D

I had a couple of Viv's and thought they were good TBH.

Never had gearbox issues, but there are plenty of cases were there have been.

One thing to watch -- had a service done at a main dealer. Needed new discs and pads all round. Bill came to £600!!!

So, providing you can find a good indy for upkeep, then go for it.

Quiet and very comfortable, especially on M/ways.

Thanks guys. I had heard storys that the LWB models were more difficult to drive than the SWB models, but I really can't see 16 inches making that much difference.

only thing to watch with LWB models is overhanging parking spaces IE: overhang get a ticket specialy in Glasgow as for driving LWB over SWB not much differance unless your loading it to much to the rear

Hi,
I have a Renault Trafic 56 Plate.

Its the sports edition model with electric windows, and air con etc.

Fantastic and has never let me down. Its the SWB model in metallic black.
I just replaced the front discs and pads (myself). Approx £160.00 the lot.

I got a company to service it and change the timing belt (kit) and waterpump as well. Approx £454.00 all in.

Next van is either a T4 VW or a Mercedes Vito, but for now the Trafic is fine.

Best regards everyone,
Sav

P.S Just going to watch the Liverpool game on T.V !!!!
