Replace or repair electric showers?

I have been a plumber for a good number of years in Brighton and Hove and would replace rather than repair. I asked electricians and searched but no one in our area seemed to repair electric showers.

Now that I have become a domestic electrician (qualified etc) I am looking to do repairs.

Is this your experience or do you replace to avoid future unrelated problems to be avoided?
