Hello Can anyone help??
I have a customer in a little cottage and she wants the cu moved directley upstairs in to the bedroom
SEB network provider said it cant go in the bedroom
is this right seen them in lots of odd locations in houses before
Cheers

Can only imagine their grounds would be `inaccessible` location - as in for wheel chair / infirm consumers. Seems weak arguement on the surface - do you know any more on specific placing?

Now if it was due to distance (3m>) from intake, then no-one`s arguing. But specifically a bedroom???

Suspect what they say will ultimately go, but would be interesting to hear their reasoning.

Agree with Jason, why can't you have a CU where the customer specifies.Maybe a pain in the a**e,but it is there perrogative.Just put the extra on top for the inconvenience;)

Hi Everyone this is what they say

"The metering equipment and your fuse box should be located about 1.2m
from floor level and cannot be re-sited to a damp or exposed situation,
a bedroom, bathroom, toilet, shower room, near heating or laundry
appliances or a gas meter (unless in a separate kiosk) or under or
adjacent to a sink and must be accessible to enable safety inspections
to be carried out without removing fixtures"
