I want to replace my downstairs toilet extension ceiling baton that is connected to a timed ext fan on an fcu and fan switch with 7 downlights. Obviously correct IP applies etc. Wiring is partly 3 core and earth ( 3 brown in loop, blue and grey neutral and brown and black live, 3 earths. Can't think how this can be terminated properly to connect the downlights without putting in an bigger rated accessible JB than your standard lighting JB.

you can get smaller 20A junction boxes but like you said will the cables fit, You have a feed and neutral, switch feed and switch wire and is the three core for the fan im assuming perm feed switch feed and neutral something like that and obviously as you inted to add more fittings youll have a switch feed out and neutrall also so 4 cables in one jb correct? Ideally if they do fit you could fit them in the jb and push the jb in theceiling at the first fitting obviously tidily and out of the way of the heat producing downlights so then its still accessible for inspection as the regs say all terminations must be able to be inspected ie not in floorboards never to be seen. Explain more clearly about the cables you have and the need of the 3core cable might be able to help
