Hi guys,

Ive been asked to replace some old spot lights with new energy efficient ones, but the old ones are larger than new fittings... any suggestions on how to fill the gap without re-plastering the ceiling??

I've only had to do this once with 2 lights, i cut a strip the width of the old fitting between the joists and then filled it with new plasterboard and plastered just those strips, if you mix some plaster of paris with the plaster it goes off much quicker.

There may be better methods but this worked for me.

I havnt been to site yet so dont know exactly... the client sent me this though:

Im guessing somewhere in the region of 150mm
