Tidy Max

Alreet chaps.

Did a job back in July and 2 x speakers didn't arrive with the order. Completed the job minus to the two outstanding speakers.

They are still outstanding as im waiting for the them to come off the production line however the company won't pay up until the job is complete (which is understandable).

My issue is that i had just under ยฃ4k worth of materials on the job and i desperately need to pay some bills!!!

I have heard of interim payments before but i have never had to do it. What's the usual process? Is there a set percentage to initially request? I submitted my invoice a couple of weeks ago and received a call the day after asking where we were up to with the outstanding speakers. The reason i submitted the invoice prior to completion is i am on 90 days payment so i thought i should get it on now so i at least get paid before Christmas!

Thanks for any advice offered.

Max

Interim payments need to be set up on the original contract. Ie monthly or after 1st fix etc. if this wasn't agreed at the outset then the client has the right not to pay until the job is complete. Also a lot of the bigger clients will hold a retention of the final payment for a set period. Again agreed on the initial contract.
