Worked with someone this week (not electrical) who said that you can use old non harmonised colours as long as you tape the ends blue and brown. Is he talking cobblers, cause I could get a decent supply of old T+E if this is the case.

Once you've reidentified the cores then it is in harmonised colours.

I used to think using brown/blue identified post part p
Not so apparently

In their wisdom, the powers that be,introduced the harmonised colours just before part p
So installing brown/blue ( as long as its dated just before p) it's ok for not notifying as well as red/black

I dont give a damn about notifying anyway
I cant be bothered unless its a major job ;)
Or unless it is eventually taken seriously that is

I don't notify through my scheme unless the job would require notification through LABC. I'm pretty sure the schemes want you to notify everything, and I know some people do, but I really don't see the point. As far as I'm concerned the scheme is there to come out once a year to make sure you aren't putting all the red wires in one hole and the same with the blacks, and to notify LABC on your behalf, so why notify and waste the price of a beer on every little job?
