Hi all. I'm fitting a resin joint on a well pump flex so the joint will be left in a vertical position and probably submerged ?
How long after making the joint could I safely lower the pump down ?thanks
Im used to joints on the flat in trenches so wasn't sure on this one thanks again

Good point about them being submerged in water. Many things are described as water resistant this does not translate to waterproof. Water is a solvent and you would be surprised what it can, over time break down.

Also worth considering is the fact that most resin joints don’t have any strain relief and are not designed to be under tension or flexed.
and yes, I know the jacket will be bonded to the resin and will provide some strain relief but if under constant tension the materials may creep apart over time.

I think you may have to speak to the manufacturers of the joint before assuming it is suitable for the application.

Yes obviously I will be making sure there is no strain on the wiring

Anyway the information was non existent with the joints I was provided with ,just a few pictures of the making of the joint which I didn't need

Joint was German but I manage to discover after about an hour googling it is indeed submersible

I had to email the company to get the curing time which is quite fast . Ridiculous really
