hi if someone has a minute of thier time to help me out with this solution i would be most grateful?

Question: A length of circular section of conductor has a resistance of 2 OHMS. If its diameter was doubled what would its Resistance be ?

answer 0.5

i thought the answer would be 1 but the answer comes up 0.5 i'm getting a bit confused, thanks again in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this

no, the resisatance is inversly proportional to the cross sectional area. which is pi x r squared. s by doubling the diameter, you are doubling r. so the ratio is 4:1 i.e. 2 /4 = 0.5.
