How do you work out the resistance/metre on a ring main is it just the same as working out a radial or does the /4 come into it
 
do you mean end to end ( r1, r2, rN ) or R1+R2?

How do you work out the resistance/metre on a ring main is it just the same as working out a radial or does the /4 come into it

Well, consider what you are measuring. Two legs of a radial circuit where the legs are in parallel.

So what value would you expect to see at the physical mid point of the ring (the furthest physical point from the origin) ?
