Hey All,

I know this has probably been asked thousands of times but I just want to clarify what bonding is required when doing a full rewire.

Would it just be main bonding from the consumer unit to the water and gas in 10mm, plus cross bonding from pipes to sinks etc in 4mm?

Thanks

main bonding . as long as you Zs readings show disconnection times can be met, no need for supplementary bonding. if its a TT system, everything needs to be RCD.

Thanks

16mm from db to main earthing terminal 10mm to gas and water
check out brb 701.415.2 for info on the supplementary bonding in the bath/shower rooms.

Give us a lesson then des.

he really shouldnt need to give lessons on supp bonds it is quite basic stuff, but supp bonding is to be used where areas of particular dangers may occur (special locations) it can be ommited if main bonds, disco times and rcds are in place and correct although personally on rewire i would still provide supp bonds in bathrooms, kitchens, cross bonds at boiler etc even though it is not a requirement it costs nothing major

Indeed it would be. But that would mean having 2 things to disconnect instead of one. More margin for error. Of course, any diligent spark would...
