Hello everyone, are you guys using radials circuits or are you still doing rings, if you are using radials what size circuits for living rooms & bedrooms are a good size.

also do they have to have heat detectors as i thought only smoke alarms was required

Many Thanks

Jim:)

Hi Jim,i would go for 4mm on the radials for living rooms and bedrooms.Regarding heat detectors in the bedrooms,i have only put smokes at the bottom of the stairs and one on the landing, plus a heat detector in the kitchen.

thanks for the replies, with regards to the heat sensor i meant do they have to be installed in the kitchen.

I take it a 20 amp radial for bedroom is a little on the small side then

You would have a heat detector over a smoke in the kitchen obviously. If thats what your asking.

Go for 32A as the need for power is increasing every year, but really most bedroom rings etc only draw a few amps

mate, a 4mm is the best option, but there wouldent really be a problem if it was a 2.5mm so long as the supply circuit breaker is 20amps or less, as for the smoke detecters, just in the landings will be sufficient, hope this helps
