Hi,
I am restoring an old art deco, wall mount medicine cabinet. The cabinet has an 18” fluorescent light tube on each side. Before I put a lot of money into restoring this (mostly chroming parts) I want to make sure I can get lights for it, preferably LEDs, and need to know what I should looking for. I will be completely rewiring the cabinet.
The photo shows the receptacle for the light pins. It takes a two pin bulb but it looks like the bulb just gets pushed in. The pins don’t get rotated to lock into place.

- When I get new light sockets can I just buy a G13 base or do LEDs require something special?
- are the sockets the same for both ends?
- I know LEDs don’t require a ballast, do I just wire them like an incandescent bulb or are there different requirements for LEDs?
